Egyptian Quran Reciter Bemoans Media’s Lack of Attention to Senior Qaris

IQNA – A renowned Egyptian qari criticized the lack of attention paid to Quran reciters in the country, especially by the Quranic media.

Sheikh Helmi Jamal made the comment after being asked about his recent absence from Quranic circles.  

He said the related officials in Egypt, especially those in the Quran Radio, do not pay attention to the views, recommendations and demands of senior qaris, either.

They even ignore the demands of the listeners of the Quran Radio, he deplored, Cairo24 website reported.

According to Jamal, senior qaris should stay at home and get involved in teaching the Quran.

The Quran Radio in Egypt has recently announced plans for employing more young qaris.

Egypt is a country in North Africa with a population of around 100 million.
